Cactus Refrigerator Magnets

Cactus Refrigerator Magnets

I originally designed these refrigerator magnets to serve as decorative 'cards' at my sister's vibrant Mexican themed dinner party. The three distinct cactuses look fantastic together, especially when printing the cactuses and pots in various colors to create a striking visual effect. I created the designs using SketchUp Make and Meshmixer software. Each cactus consists of three components: the cactus itself, the pot, and the outline. The cactus and the pot feature a 27x10x2.5 mm hole to accommodate a magnet. To ensure all parts adhere together securely, I used a small amount of superglue; however, the fit is still not tight enough to hold the cactus and pot in place. I printed everything at an optimal layer height of 0.2 mm, without requiring any supports, on my reliable Creality Ender 3 printer. Most cactuses and pots were printed with Colorfabb PLA filament (they offer convenient 50 g samples, perfect for projects like this, as buying six different colored PLA spools would be prohibitively expensive). The yellow pots are printed with Devil Design PLA filament. The blue pots are printed with a locally sourced high-quality PLA (Lay3rs) from Dutch Filaments. And the outlines are printed with Esun black PLA (in my opinion, it offers good quality at an affordable price). Happy printing!
