Cactus pot with water reserve
cults3d
I designed a container for my cactus with a built-in water reservoir, the pot filled from the bottom up with an adjustable water level so the cactus doesn't get soaked.\nInside the cactus pots is a thick cord (similar to a lanyard or jogging pants drawstring) that helps lift some water up to the roots.\nThe water level inside the tank can be seen without having to remove the cactus, and the roots absorb just what they need from the cotton cords.\nThe file was printed without support, I uploaded it online with a slight modification of my photo - simply removing the base material, flipping it, and tilting at 45 degrees allowed me to print with reduced material waste.\nTo seal the pot, a layer of polyester resin is applied to the bottom so water won't leak out (I used eco SOLOPLAST type resin). Despite multiple tests, I haven't been able to find a sufficiently waterproof solution without using an independent product.
