Cabras, area archeologica di Mont'e Prama.

Mont'e Prama is the hill where, forty years ago, a farmer, Sisinnio Poddine, discovered the first fragments of statues that we find on display in Cagliari and Cabras today. That casual discovery – which was it not? – led to scientific investigations. More than 5,000 fragments came to light: archers, warriors, 'boxers,' models of nuraghe, betils. An entire universe of characters emerged from the past to offer us a window into the world that created those sculptures. The iconography is Nuragic. The style is scented with the East. The layer covering the statues covered a specific area of a larger necropolis. Single tombs with circular pit. In each tomb, a single individual. 33 burials. Almost absent are the grave goods.
