Caboose for Trackmaster

Caboose for Trackmaster

This is a mashup (meshup?) between the modular trackmaster trucks and a realish train caboose. I simplified the model of the caboose in an attempt to make it more toddler-resistant. I combined the "flat car" mesh from the modular trucks directly into the caboose mesh. Print the body, undercarriage, and roofs with a brim to keep edges flat, but the smaller pieces without a brim to keep their shape. The wheel and body holes and pegs may need sanding to allow the pegs to fit in the undercarriage and the wheels to turn smoothly. I glued the roofs to the body and the body to the undercarriage with superglue. But if you had a tight enough fit on the undercarriage pegs, you could try just using press fit. I painted the roof and wheels with black (spraypaint), and the body with red. Of course they could have been printed in that color to begin with, but all I had at the time was white. :) After finishing this and seeing it with the other cars, it sticks out a bit due to the raised undercarriage. The manufactured cars have wheels sunk into the undercarriage and those look better. At some point I may try to design a simple undercarriage like that.
