CableManager
thingiverse
If your devices' Ethernet, power cords or cables all too often ends up in a tangled mess then do yourself a favor and print a CableManager! This simple device prints in approximately 15 minutes (on a MakerBot), uses very little filament, and quickly clicks into place on your device's power cord. Refer to the images for the recommended sequence. Once installed in this order you can unclip the length of cable required from each end to manage the length of cable as needed... and secure it in a tidy coil when all clipped back in place. A quick and easy solution that keeps your devices' power cables under control. At standard scale, the CableManager works with 6.75mm diameter power cables which are common for laptop power supplies. Scale up/down as required to suit other common cable sizes. A second .stl has been added that is designed to suit Ethernet cables and functions in exactly the same way. For example, with Ethernet Cables decrease the X/Y scaling by 22% (78% of standard) to use with 5.25mm cables which are the common/average Ethernet size. Note: Cables vary in diameter so you may need to test a couple to get them perfect for your cables. Only uniform X/Y scaling is recommended as Z scaling will affect the strength and flexibility of the CableManager. A great way to keep your power cables tidy, adjusted to the length required and tangle-free. Note: If you like this, check out all my other practical and fun designs. Print Settings Rafts Yes Supports No Resolution 0.20mm / Standard Infill 2 or 3 shells / 50% fill (will affect the tension on the cable) Notes Easy print... no support but raft recommended. Use 2 shells and 50% infill with PLA. These settings will affect how springy/tight the cables are to insert. Adjust to suit... Prints great with PLA but should be as good or better with ABS.
