CableBall - Cable Manager & Holder

CableBall - Cable Manager & Holder

I needed a cable holder that could be attached to the back of my cupboard in a relatively hidden way - but still make the cables easily accessible without them falling off. The "balls" are clipped together under the plug (or anywhere else on the cable) to act as stoppers in the actual holder. The balls have a cable diameter of about 2.5mm to 5mm, slight tolerances are given. They can be printed quickly, so just print all the variants and then test which ones fit best. To prevent them from slipping, they should fit rather tightly. The two connectors should also fit, but depending on your printer you should test that they are really tight in the holes in the ball halves; if necessary you have to scale up or down slowly. The holders can hold 1 to 5 cables and can be easily attached with (removable) tape. To avoid a larger gap, I also have variants of the holders that have a recess of 1.25mm on the back - in case the tape is a bit thicker. The cable must first be passed through the holder, up to 12mm thickness for a connector is possible. Then attach the balls, ready. ;-)Print settings:There is not much to consider when printing. The holders should be printed with the large openings on the print bed. Supports may be necessary for the first part, but I was able to print them completely without supports. Both are possible. Layer height doesn't really matter. I printed the balls and connectors without supports with a layer height of 0.1mm. This has no functional advantages, but results in a nicer round surface; 0.2mm is also possible.
