cable tray for a wire rack shelf
thingiverse
My versatile 3D printer rests proudly on a sturdy wire rack cart, its utility potential just waiting to be unleashed. I've been busy creating an array of functional accessories to hang my essential tools and miscellaneous items from this mobile workstation. Taking inspiration from the humble cable tray, I decided to give it a creative makeover - once wasn't enough, so I remixed it a second time, eager to push the limits of its design. To ensure seamless integration with my wire rack shelf, I added custom supports to the rail clips, which printed flawlessly thanks to their optimized design. Post-print, I carefully trimmed off these temporary reinforcements, leaving behind four, two, and one finger-sections of cable tray that would effortlessly clip onto the front of my wire rack cart. As for the shelf's dimensions, the outer measurement comes in at 27mm, while the wires that form its framework are spaced 20mm apart. I brought this project to life using my tried-and-true ABS settings for temperature and speed control, along with a moderate infill percentage of 20% - the perfect balance between structural integrity and weight reduction.
