Cable Tie Saddle Mount

Print sideways (current rotation) with no supports. These mounts are designed to securely fasten cables, devices, and other items to walls using durable nylon cable ties. First, screw the mount firmly into place through its central hole, then thread the strap through the slots on both sides of the mount and wrap it around whatever you are trying to attach. For larger objects, use multiple mounts for added stability. I prefer these mounts over adhesive-backed alternatives that rely solely on double-sided foam tape because they remain securely in place. The commercial equivalents of this design typically feature nylon construction, which is a significant factor considering that 3D printed parts made from weaker materials are generally more susceptible to damage. In order to create a stronger mount, I have intentionally added extra durability to these designs compared to commercially available options. To their surprise, even when printed with regular PLA filament, these mounts exhibit surprisingly high strength. However, it is essential to apply a reasonable amount of force when screwing them down, especially if using tapered-head screws, as excessive torque can cause the mount to crack or break in half. It's also crucial to consider your material limitations when printing and installing these mounts. PLA may not be the ideal choice for areas that are subject to high temperatures. UPDATE May 1, 2020: I have replaced the squared-off version with a redesigned rounded-off model, which I believe is stronger and more visually appealing. If you appreciate this design, please consider showing your appreciation by tipping or sharing it with others through a "make" post.
