Cable Tidy - Round
thingiverse
This is an updated design of the original cable tidy, featuring a gap that makes it significantly easier to add cables regardless of their size. The gap also streamlines the process of removing and replacing cables at any point in time. Loose cables are less likely to come undone due to the angled gap, though very loose cables may still become disconnected if not fully inserted. The introduction of this gap does create a weakness, which is offset by increasing the thickness from 2mm to 3mm. All components in this design have a height of 20mm. Assembly details can be found in the original design images, as the assembly process remains unchanged. However, instead of using two lines of filament, only one line is required now. For added durability, it's recommended to use ABS for the backbone line due to its reduced susceptibility to cracking. The main image showcases the 40mm size, which can accommodate about a dozen cables. This design offers flexibility and can be easily scaled up in strength, size, or height as needed. Additionally, creating a hole and connector for a 2.85mm filament backbone is a straightforward process upon request.
