With the use (we bought it 10 years ago) the cable of our vacuum cleaner broke and no longer turned on. It took us some work to open the vacuum (I didn't have the appropriate tools and we had to buy them), but once we got it open I used this piece to replace the cable strain relief. I recommend adjusting the length of the cable, making some marks where the piece should go and using instant glue. Then we have reinforced the two ends with a hot glue gun, although I don't know if this was necessary. It is important to grasp the part well with the clamp that the vacuum cleaner already brings, just as the original cable is mounted.
