Cable Storage - Ikea Besta - Command Strip - no supports
thingiverse
I've been working on some earlier prototypes of my latest project, but they didn't quite meet my expectations. The two taller ones you see on the right-hand side in the photos are those prototypes, and I haven't yet completed printing their replacements - which is partly because I need to acquire more command strips. In an effort to conceal as much as possible within my "entertainment center" (a wall-mounted Ikea Besta with doors), I developed this sleek design for holding cables inside the doors. The gap between the door and the shelves inside measures approximately one inch, and I wanted a clean appearance that was easy to remove if needed. To achieve this, I designed these organizers to utilize 3M command strips. The container itself slides onto the mounting bracket, concealing the command strips' pull tab so you don't have to see any seams or drill holes. If you decide to move or remove it, simply slide off the container and pull the release tab. This design prints open-end down (refer to photos/screenshots) and shouldn't require any supports. There's a small notch inside the bottom layer that creates two small bridges; the next layer then bridges between them (please see screenshots). I print at 0.2 for speed, and 20% infill should be sufficient. In the future, I plan to create additional organizers using this mount, so if you have any ideas, please let me know.
