I recently encountered an issue where the plug on my Dell Inspiron 17 5000 stopped working, and I found myself repairing it by resoldering the contacts and heat shrinking them in place. Despite this effort, the wires continued to break, making me realize that a more reliable solution was needed. To address this problem, I designed a device that reinstates a solid plug, ensuring a longer lifespan for my laptop's charging port. This design is compatible with any 4.5mm OD plug and can be easily adapted using Sketchup if modifications are desired.
