Cable Plug Hole Cover / Grommet / Bushing (Parametric)
thingiverse
This updated version fixes a customizer bug that concealed the case hole size parameter in the previous release (previously downloaded 133 times). This nifty plug enlarges a larger hole in an enclosure while still allowing space for cable passage. Useful when you need to drill a bigger hole for fitting cable ends through the enclosure wall, yet wish to restrict the overall opening size. The design is completely parametric and well-commented with 10 customizable parameters. In the photo, note that the hardboard was damaged (due to improper support during drilling); however, the plug functioned flawlessly. I made the cable aperture slightly larger than the cable itself for accommodating additional small wires. It's sturdy and fits snugly. Currently, it's utilized in an enclosure for ABS fume extraction in my 3D printer. If you need exhaust tube adapters for your enclosure build, try this thing: [link]. I also employ this component in my parametric printer enclosure (available at [link]). Please refer to the detailed comments for usage instructions. The STL is designed for a 0.75" case hole cut into 3.5mm hardboard with a cable diameter of 5.4mm, fitting USB cable ends and accommodating additional wires for power in my application.
