Cable Modem Stand with Fan

*** UPDATE *** 2-20-18 I just realized that the version I uploaded on 1-14-18 was woefully incorrect and lacked crucial structural elements necessary to support the fan, causing it to sag downwards over time. *** UPDATE *** 1-14-18 I have just uploaded a revised version of my bracket design. After putting this new version through its paces, I noticed several flaws in the original design. Firstly, I added robust support pillars to prevent bending and warping, ensuring that it maintains its shape. Secondly, I incorporated feet at the bottom and attached two small rubber sticky pads to prevent it from sliding off slippery surfaces. Thirdly, I adjusted the distance between the two arms that grasp the top and bottom of the unit, resulting in a slightly improved grip. This revised version appears to be significantly more stable than its predecessor. I recently acquired a new entertainment center, but my Comcast cable modem doesn't have sufficient clearance to stand upright. Laying it on its side created an unappealing imbalance, so I designed this stand to keep it level and added an optional 120 mm case fan to keep it cool - what a massive difference this made! I'm nearly certain that overheating is the primary cause of failure in these devices. I suspect that this design will only accommodate X-Finity line cable modems, but as a major company, many people may own this model.
