This project creates a cable management solution for an A/V receiver or other electronic equipment. In this case the receiver is on a slide-out mount which would never close easily with all of the wires. At work, I typically used commercial cable management solutions for slide-out rack-mount servers and these range in cost from $150-200! Instead this costs less than $5 for filament and hardware.

This print borrowed the hinge design from Thatcher88 on Thingiverse and the STL is included in the files you'll need. The hinge uses an M4 bolt for the hinge pin. One half was printed to attach to the wall and the two arms have the hinge remixed into each end of the arms. There is a longer arm (286mm) and a shorter one (236mm) for my installation. I designed a vertical connector with hinge to attach to the sliding mount, however, there wasn't room for it. I just used another half-hinge for the last connection point to the mass of cables.

The arms had to be rotated on the printer table since they are large so 3MF files are included. The hinge has a 3MF file placing the hinge on its back. Everything was printed in PLA at .1 mm detail (though .2 mm should be fine) and 15% infill. No supports are required. PETG or ABS may be a good choice as the arms flex a bit if you have stiff RF and speaker cables. Note that optical cables should be carefully routed to avoid being pinched near the hinge. Also, I routed the power cable separately so it wouldn't induce hum into the phono or subwoofer audio-level cables.

I admit the cable harnessing could have been neater, however I chose not to remove the cabling from the receiver. Starting at the receiver, I straightened and pulled excess back as much as possible, wire tying along the way back to the wall.

OpenScad files are included if you need to remix.
