Cable joiner resin mould
thingiverse
This was designed for a pond pump that had a cord broken below the waterline. I used it successfully to insulate a soldered connection in a 240V cable, but I cannot recommend it for high voltage use - you must satisfy yourself in respect of the safety for anything more than low voltage. It includes a two-part resin mould that is then filled with two pack resin of the same kind that is used for the 3M high voltage connectors via the funnel that is also included. Slip it over each end of the cable to be joined, solder the joints and seal with shrink tube, then use the clip (x2) supplied to hold the cables in line and join the two parts together. Tape the ends where they slide over the cable sheath with insulation tape to prevent leakage and fill with resin. Use a 'cool mix' so the resin doesn't set while waiting for it to fill the mould, which takes about 2-3 minutes to pour in a bit at a time.
