cable hook, round
thingiverse
Just experimenting with drawing hemispheres in Sketchup, playing around with the 'follow me' feature. Never been a fan of those square hooks, though. Also discovering that single hooks seem to work out better. Modified and updated to add a radius at the base for more strength. Changed the base slightly as well.Scaled down by half, found it much more useful. Even managed to whip up a triplet, despite previously thinking singles might be the way to go - was trying to conserve screws. Print Settings: Rafts: None Supports: None Resolution: 0.2mm per layer Infill: 30%? Notes: Using abs without a fan for multiple prints that fill the bed. Working well so far. Have found it helpful to scale down original files by half. How I Designed This: When working with "follow me", you've got to make sure those sections end on straight lines to get the interface angle right. If drawing a sphere, start by sketching your circle or arc where you want the sphere. Take a radial line off a small distance away and draw another circle perpendicular to it. Then, just use follow me - either end up with a weird mess or a nice, neat sphere. I think there was some trickery involved with "rotate" and so on...
