I hold up a large cable holder that attaches securely to your bedside table, easily accommodating an iPhone's charging cable - I haven't experimented with Android devices, though it's unlikely to fit as neatly. With a simple double-tap motion on each side of my bedside table, this holder secures itself firmly in place, giving you ample room for even the most unruly cords.
