##The Problem If you're not installing the spool holder like Creality advises in the construction plan, you may run into trouble with the X-axis cable (motor and switch). Why should you ignore the creator's instructions? The proposed solution, mounting the holder perpendicularly on the right side of the printer, has one advantage: filament spools are out of reach of moving printer parts. That's great! However, you'll also get some disadvantages: first, the spool increases the printer's footprint and space requirements. Additionally, maintenance when changing filaments will be more complicated, happening mostly on the backside of the printer. If you have ample space around your printer and don't plan to enclose it for printing other materials besides PLA, then stop reading. You can follow Creality's instructions without issue. Nearby, the Ender 5 Plus has a unique twist - Creality rotated the spool by 90 degrees! ##The Second Solution I designed a simple holder that feeds into the upper edge of the X-axis motor cover. Then, you simply clap it down. No screws or tools are needed. After this, run the cable into the clips, and you're ready to go! The cable will be guided between the filament spool and the moving bed. I tested it, and it works wonderfully! In December 2019, I released the first cable holder for the Ender 5, which worked great. However, after extending my printer with multiple hotends featuring varying cable lengths and weights, some setups caused cables to scratch against the X-axis sensor or motor. I had to find a solution to this problem. Here's another tip: if you use my "Dry Filamentbox" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4056923), I recommend printing this holder as well due to the edges of the acrylic cover. This thing will address several issues: - Guide X-cables in a safe region - Hold down the X-sensor cable properly - Prevent tubes and cables from jamming while printing
