Cable Grommet With Strain Relief - Hard Plastic

Cable Grommet With Strain Relief - Hard Plastic

thingiverse

This is a cable grommet meant to be printed out of non-flexible filament (after my previous TPU attempt I still haven't actually tried printing as I've not opened the filament yet). It prints in two identical halves and screws together and is made parametrically - if poorly designed for parametric approaches - for customization in freeCAD. Out of the box, it works for me with USB cables, though needs to be larger for mains flex. One side should be opened up slightly for a clearance hold. It is still missing a rear clip to sit in the opening though could be glued. Current design holds itself onto M3x6 Allen bolts and grips most standard USB cables firmly. It's designed around a 16mm opening, 3-4mm diameter cable. I flattened it against the bed and printed in 0.8mm layers, 50% infill with bed support.
