Cable Clip for Creality Sprite Extruder (with M3 Threaded Inserts)
prusaprinters
This is a cable clip mod (with Threaded Inserts) for the Creality Sprite Extruder Mod used on the Ender3/Ender3 Pro/Ender3v2. The Sprite Extruder has a ribbon-style cable in braided sleeving. This printed STL mod will clip and hold the cable so it won't snag or interrupt your printer. This model was created from scratch in Fusion 360 and based on real measurements from my Ender3v2. It was inspired by Alexis's Ender 3 cable clip for the Sprite extruder (https://www.printables.com/model/312912-ender-3-cable-clip-for-sprite-extruder), but his STL model is too short to completely clip the cable and thread it into plastic. I have also adjusted the clip to hold the entire ribbon cable more tightly, and to use M3 threaded inserts. The ones I used are the Voron Thread inserts on the official sourcing guide. The size is M3 X D5.0 X L4.0 (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DmtbCyn). The threaded inserts were inserted into the mod with a soldering iron at 200°C with a wide tip, with next to no pressure, and let gravity and the weight of the soldering iron do its job by sinking the insert.Screws used were M3x6 BHCS 6mm "Button Head Cap Screw" metric socket M3 screws, M3x6 SHCS 6mm "Socket Head Cap Screw" works too. I have the screws going in from the bottom of the metal plate so the plate would give the bracket more support. (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Dkqeb6X or https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DCBLg2L)I also printed this in Polymaker ASA (https://us.polymaker.com/products/polylite-asa) so I can put the printer in an enclosure to print high-temp materials. The print settings are the same as the Voron printed parts settings to give it strength:Layer height: 0.2mmExtrusion width: 0.4mm, forcedInfill percentage: 40%Infill type: grid, gyroid, honeycomb, triangle, or cubicWall count: 4Solid top/bottom layers: 5Supports: NONE*** Brim width 5mmI used a brim because I printed with ASA and didn't want the clip part of the model to fail. If you print in PLA or PETG and at a slow enough speed, you might not need a brim.I have also included the Fusion 360 F3d file so you can mod and edit the model.
