Cable chain for Prusa I3 Rework 1.5

This thing consists of three parts: **Open Cable Chain**: a cable chain that connects the extruder to the X-motor and between the X-motor and the Z-motor, located near the Arduino board. - **Support_Chaine_Cable_sur_NEMA17.stl**: a ring that fits onto the extruder motor with an "end1" connector attached to the cable chain. - **Support_x_motor.stl**: a ring that fits onto the X-motor with an "end2" connector facing the extruder and an "end1" connector facing the Z-Motor. - **Support_Z_Endstop_Z_motor_mount.stl**: a remix of thing:326638, designed for Prusa I3 Rework 1.0. It includes a z-endstop, which is not necessary for Prusa I3 Rework 1.5. For convenience, I have included the following files: - From thing:611593 **Open Cable Chain** (license Creative Commons - Attribution - Share Alike): end1_fixed.stl end2_fixed.stl - From thing:858449 **Prusa i3 Rework 1.5** (license GPL): F - Extruder_.STL The **Support_Chaine_Cable_sur_NEMA17.zip** file contains the OpenSCAD source files: - M_global.scad: a small library that provides shortcuts for translations, rotations, and tolerance constants to ease fittings between separate pieces. - vis_M3_5_x_16.scad: a library to integrate wood screws size M3.5 x 16 into designs. - M3.scad: a library to integrate M3 nuts and threaded rods into designs. - nema17.scad: a library to integrate NEMA17 motors into designs. - thing_611593_Open_Cable_Chain_new-chain.scad: taken from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611593 - coté_extrudeur subdirectory: - Support_Chaine_Cable_sur_NEMA17.scad: the file used to generate the ring for the extruder motor. - Conception.scad: a file used to display a view useful when designing the whole thing in OpenScad. - interne.scad: the main part of the scad code for the thing. - end1_fixed.stl: taken from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611593 - end2_fixed.stl: taken from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611593 - coté_x_motor subdirectory: - Conception.scad: a file used to display a view useful when designing the whole thing in OpenScad. - interne.scad: the main part of the scad code for the thing. - end1_fixed.stl: taken from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611593 - end2_fixed.stl: taken from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611593 - coté_z_endstop subdirectory: - Conception.scad: a file used to display a view useful when designing the whole thing in OpenScad. - interne.scad: the main part of the scad code for the thing. - end1_fixed.stl: taken from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611593 - end2_fixed.stl: taken from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611593 I designed this thing on a Prusa with a broken and repaired extruder that is shifted 7 mm towards negative Y (i.e., toward the front) relative to the original one. You may need to adjust the scad files, especially in coté_extrudeur/interne.scad line 19 by changing "tx()" to something like "tx(7)" to shift the chain connector towards the front of the printer. However, the other ring on the X-motor can slide freely a few mm in this direction, so there is a good chance you won't need to do this tuning. **(update 2017 October 12th: it's okay with an original extruder)** For future designs, I am considering rotating some degrees towards the front the connectors for the chain between the extruder and the X-Motor because as you can see on the pictures, the chain can hit the spool holder or the LCD-screen when printing something higher than approximately 90 mm.
