Cable chain
thingiverse
A streamlined version of the original design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10946 for smoother printing. I addressed issues with slight overhangs at the front of the link that would bend upwards while printing the cable chain by adding a 1mm support beneath it to keep it level. This solution allows the print to go off without a hitch now, and the support is simple to remove using a knife or a file. Two custom mounts I've designed specifically for my Prusa i3 X-carriage have also been added. The extruder side easily clips onto the NEMA stepper motor that controls the extruder. Instructions: To assemble this project, simply print and trim down the support either with a knife, file, or sandpaper to your desired length. For optimal results, I recommend printing the mounts in the orientation they are displayed with the support set to "touching the buildplate" or a similar setting for the best possible appearance and strongest construction. The "X-motor" mount may require a small drop of glue to stay in place depending on the print's precision, but I didn't need it.
