Cabinet vents 60mm Fan and Rectangular vent, slanted to prevent rain
thingiverse
I needed vents for my power supply box and network equipment outside of my house because the equipment was overheating inside the waterproof sealed boxes. I designed a fan cover with slanted fins that would still keep water out, but initially used thin fins in my first design which proved to be too weak for my 3D printer's 0.8mm nozzle. Therefore, I created a second version of the fan cover and rectangular vent using thicker fins. After printing the new vents, I quickly attached them and applied a coat of spray paint - a job that can be done neatly if you take your time. Please note that when installing the vents, ensure they are properly aligned to prevent rain from flowing into your cabinet. Additionally, avoid securing the vent with bolts and nuts if your cabinet's lid slides on, as this may cause problems. Lastly, I have not tested the fan vent with thin fins due to its incompatibility with my 0.8mm nozzle; if it gives you issues or appears too weak, please let me know so I can remove it from the design.
