Cabinet pocket hinge jig
thingiverse
This is a jig for converting double demountable hinges to the new style pocket hinges. I used Blum Blumotion Compact hinges for this project. To assemble, print both pieces and press or glue them together. For this conversion, I employed a 1 3/8" boring bit that I purchased at Lee Valley. A lock collar was created to set the bit depth according to the hinge instructions. If you are unable to replicate my design, consider purchasing a small bearing with a locking collar (1/2" bearing in this case) and adjust the set screw to the desired bit depth. To use the jig effectively, first align it in the existing hinge key hole. Next, clamp and bore. For marking the holes for drilling, I utilized a nail, as I had initially planned on acquiring an extra long 3/32" bit for this purpose (since it's necessary to clear the jig). Using a 3/32" bit, drill the screw holes. Finally, install the hinge. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC * Printer: Rostock MAX * Rafts: No * Supports: Yes * Resolution: 0.25mm * Infill: 35% * Notes: I printed in orange ABS with a 0.25mm layer height and 35% triangle infill.
