To assemble the clip and clip-base, you'll need a small flat-head screwdriver or knife. Begin by positioning it at an angle and working the retainer clips over the edge until they snap into place. These clips are designed to fit together in only one way, so make sure to align them correctly. For optimal results, use #8 screws. When installing the post, a 1-inch long screw is recommended, while the base requires two screws measuring between 1/2 and 3/4 inches in length.
