The Diesel Auto Camion (DAC) is a Romanian truck brand originating from Braşov since the 1970s. Since DAC's integration into Roman trucks' special trucks division post-1990, approximately 750,000 trucks have been produced as of 2000. Despite sharing construction platforms with Roman trucks, DAC was not part of MAN's 1971 joint venture with the Romanian government. Established after World War II on the former ROMLOC automotive factory site built in 1921, the industrial plant was initially named Steagul Rosu (Red Flag) in communist times.
