Approximation to the context of the headstone of the Vila Franca do Campo Municipal Museum (Inv. No.: MVFC1765). Headstones or discoid steles marked burial sites, sometimes featuring elements that identified the deceased, such as corporate symbols of their profession or order they belonged to. The piece's context is unknown. "The use of discoid steles spans a wide diachrony, from the medieval period to almost the present day (examples are known from the 20th century), making the dating of discontextualized findings always problematic.
