C920 bed mount (LK4 / Alfawise U30)
thingiverse
Hello everyone ! Here's my support model for Logitech C920, which sits directly on the board. It's not perfect because it's not compatible with all printers and I don't want to overheat the board. However, I couldn't find a suitable alternative for my printer (Longer LK4 Pro, similar to Alfawise U30 Pro). I'm using yellow springs, which makes the mounts below the plate too rigid. That's why I had to add some extra tape to secure it. This is a DIY solution, and as you can see, there are vibrations involved. To fix this, I had to add more tape. But hey, it's still much cleaner than having a fixed camera! The space between the two "teeth" of the support is 8mm. If anyone wants to modify my design, I've shared the Fusion 360 project online. The screw is a 1/4 thread for the C920, but it's a bit too big for my project. This causes the camera to move, so I had to add more tape. To fix this, I'd recommend shrinking the screw by 1mm or 1.12m (at the thread). For reference, mine is printed in PLA, which might be possible in ABS if you want a better temperature resistance for the tray. Even though it's made of PLA, I've been able to heat the plate up to 40°C without any issues. The model is printed in 0.1mm with very thick walls, ensuring that the "teeth" of the "U" are securely attached to the plate (5 or 6 walls, depending on the design). There's still room for improvement, but maybe this can inspire some people to create their own solutions!
