C9 Christmas Light Nail Hanger
prusaprinters

Designed this as a replacement for old C9 strands we had that hooked onto nails placed under the eves of our house. The old strands were at the end of their life and a lot were broken. The nail system used is fairly nice, requiring a bit of work one year to put it all up, but after that, it's really easy to pop lights on and off the nails.

The hooks I printed with Prusament PETG settings and 0.2mm quality settings with 4 perimeters and detect bridging perimeters. Atomic Pine Green PETG is the color I used for these in the pictures.

The receiver cup I printed with Prusament PETG settings and 0.2mm quality settings with 5 perimeters, 10 solid top layers, 7 solid bottom layers, 1mm top shell thickness, and 0.7mm bottom shell thickness.

Using the cup the bottom clips on the C9 sockets can be removed using a stubby flat blade screwdriver to pop them out. Then the replacement printed clips can be put in.

I used 1 ½" 8d (0.131") hot-dipped galvanized joist hanger nails for ones I needed to replace from what we had existing. #N8DHDG https://www.homedepot.com/p/206101778 I also can recommend the excellent nail holder here https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/59261-nail-guide-finger-guard
