C7A2 variable thickness Buttpad
thingiverse
The CAF C7A2 replaced the C7A1 quite a long time ago. One thing they never really solved to my satisfaction was how the old c7 had different length butt-stocks to adjust length of pull for individual shooters. It also makes parade drill extremely irritating for those of us tall enough to have to hover the butt stock off the ground. The old C7 could be made just long enough to solve this problem. The current C7 cannot. This print solves that problem with increased thickness butt-pads! This is my first model in fusion 360 to use a changeable parameter, everything stays the same except the thickness of the pad between the stock grabber and your shoulder. The curve in the shoulder is 6mm deep, so the 25mm buttpad has a 19mm thickness at it's most shallow point, but the ends will be exactly 25mm. I have tested this print on the collapsing stock and it fits perfectly. I printed this with sainsmart TPU, with 40% gyroid infill it is almost an exact stiffness match for the rubber pad, with perhaps slightly more give in the recoil direction but more stiffness in flexion. I printed with the hollow down, supports enabled, they came out perfectly in a single chunk. No idea what your COC might think about this, but if you paint it just right they'll probably never notice. Enjoy!
