C64 Keyboard Connector for DuPont Cables
thingiverse
I'm using DuPont cables extensively for my C64 projects, but unfortunately, the original connectors are only 2.65 mm wide and won't fit side by side with the standard 1/10 inch, 2.54 mm connectors.\r\nIt's essentially one piece, but I've printed a second connector mirrored because DuPont cables are made that way, allowing it to fit perfectly on each side without twisting the cables.\r\nI've printed this connector upright due to the small notches holding crimp connectors in place; they would be flat and weak if printed horizontally.\r\nA layer height of 0.2 mm works well, but 0.1 mm may produce stronger notches, depending on the material used, which can break out easily.\r\nI've used PLA with a non-heated bed, resulting in initial prototypes (seen in pictures) that warped due to temperature differences.\r\nThe final version was printed with a 3 mm brim and reduced speed, producing excellent results.\r\nQuality of DuPont cables affects connector fit; they may be slightly tight.
