C64/128 1541-SD case DIY
thingiverse
I have designed per request the original (older) 1541 specifically for the same sd2iec pcb, you can find it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3913444 This is a case for a DIY SD2IEC that's perfect for Commodore 8-bit computers. You can find the schematics for the circuit at SOLO761 blog : https://16bitdust.wordpress.com/2014/12/04/sd2iec-for-commodore-64128-diy/ It consists of four parts, the front and base must be glued together, making it easier to glue them after assembling the front with leds and switches. The C= logo is separate, allowing you to print the top case cover upside down for a better finish and gluing it at a later stage. There are two different fronts available, one regular and another with a widened slot hole in case your PCB is thicker and can't slide together with the sd-slot into the opening slot. The pcb will be screwed to the base with three screws, the holes on the pcb have been calculated to be spaced without vias, requiring you to align the pcb to the base and mark where the holes must be drilled on the pcb. The holes on the base are quite small so you'll need to drill them in whatever size screws you want to use. Have fun and keep up with the Commodore! UPDATE 1: The new file 1541-SD basen.stl has bigger screw holders and is matched for M3 screws. The previous smaller base holders were more prone to breaking if you tried to tighten the screws too hard.
