A 1985 Corvette (and other years from 1984 onwards) features a clutch master cylinder with a spacer. Adjusting the thickness of this spacer changes the clutch engagement height. Here's a model of an 8mm spacer, with the stock one estimated at 15-16mm. I printed mine from ABS to fit my '85 Corvette with a Doug Nash 4-speed transmission, hoping to resolve shifting issues. An update reveals that the plastic spacer degraded when exposed to brake fluid and pressure; it's advisable to use a material other than plastic in practice. Additionally, an OEM AC Delco clutch master cylinder is recommended over cheaper Chinese alternatives, which may only last two months despite their low price. --- In a 1985 Corvette (and other years ranging from 1984 onwards), the clutch master cylinder includes a spacer whose thickness alters the clutch engagement height. I've modeled an 8mm spacer, with the standard one approximated at 15-16mm. For my '85 Corvette fitted with a Doug Nash 4-speed gearbox, I printed this ABS spacer in a bid to address shifting issues. However, upon testing, the plastic spacer deteriorated when submerged in brake fluid and compressed. It's suggested that a material other than plastic be used for this part. Moreover, it's crucial to install an OEM AC Delco clutch master cylinder instead of cheaper Chinese counterfeits, which typically last only two months before failing.
