C3D Doggo ABL Probe - A very small BLTouch-like Servo Z Prove
thingiverse
I didn't want a massive probe stuck at the hotend cooling exhaust, so I created this tiny servo-actuated Z probe instead. I also couldn't find any suitable probe for Prusa i3 MK2 clones, so I designed an adapter as well based on the original extruder cover. I wanted it servo actuated so I could install it on any printer and position it anywhere around the x-carriage. It is secured in place by a single screw, which I think is very neat. This design doesn't require springs to deploy. The slider design allows the servo arm to kick it into place as it moves downward. Everything is printed, with no screws or other metal parts needed (except for the electronics). The final design ended up resembling a dog, so my sister helped me add some dog-like lines. The name "Doggo" came naturally after that.
