C270 Magnetic Camera Boom

This is a magnetic webcam boom that I made for my C270 webcam. It's based on two mounts listed in the references, which I've redesigned to use a piece of 4mm aluminum rod or carbon fiber to prevent drooping. The clamp provides friction with the moving portion, while the bolt and nut remain stationary. A counter balance has also been added to the camera to prevent it from rotating over time due to twisting forces that would exceed the set screw's holding capacity. I've updated the mount to use 4mm rods and added a knuckle in the middle of each rod for added stability. The magnets used are 12mm x 3mm, which I purchased at my local hardware store. To complete this project, you'll need: (3) M3x6 cap screws (2) M3 x15 plus M3 Lock nuts (1) M3 x12 cap screw and lock nut (1) 4mm x 200mm of carbon fiber rod or aluminum rod (1) 4mm x 100mm of carbon fiber rod or aluminum rod I've included an alternate version with the camera mount horizontal, which will require supports touching the base. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 50% Notes: This project requires a brim since the ball on the camera mount has very little contact with the bed. The Camera mount (part with the large ball) needs 50% infill for strength, while the rest of the parts are suitable with 30% infill. Post-Printing: The fit of the magnets is tight, so clean out the hole before pressing them in. The magnets should hold the weight of the mount, but it may twist; to assist with grip, cover the magnets with Kapton Tape, which will help keep the mount from slipping on metal.
