Dating to Neolithic or earlier times, these motifs are common in southern Arabia, Oman, and the UAE. [Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)]. Khatm Al Melaha stands as a spectacular archaeological site along the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE, boasting one of the largest rock art sites within the country. The site's rich history is evident through its array of stone houses, shell middens, stone tombs, and other features that confirm human occupation from at least the early Holocene to the 19th century. A thorough documentation was conducted on over 175 stones bearing petroglyphs, resulting in the identification of nearly 400 distinct motifs. Each rock with a glyph was assigned a unique ID number and GPS coordinate for precise mapping. In a single day, an impressive array of data was collected: 25455 terrestrial photographs, 5244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 GPS points with an accuracy of +/- 1cm. All gathered data was meticulously processed using Reality Capture software, while details were skillfully brought to life in Substance Painter.
