DStretch LDS Version captures Petroglyph C22 at Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah. A Nubian Ibex is depicted below, while a Syrian Wild Ass appears above it, with the human figure situated on the left. The artwork dates back to Neolithic times or earlier. These motifs are frequently seen in southern Arabia, Oman, and the UAE [Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)].\nKhatm Al Melaha is a remarkable archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. It stands out as one of the largest rock art sites in the UAE. In addition to its extensive collection of petroglyphs, this site boasts stone houses, a shell midden, stone tombs, and other features that indicate human occupation from at least the early Holocene period up to the 19th century.\nMore than 175 stones bearing petroglyphs were thoroughly documented, revealing nearly 400 motifs in total. Each rock with a glyph received an ID number and a GPS coordinate for precise mapping. In just one day, a massive amount of data was collected: over 25,000 terrestrial photographs, more than 5,200 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and almost 400 GPS points (accurate to within 1cm) were gathered.\nAll this data was processed using Reality Capture software, with detailed renderings created in Substance Painter.
