A friend's Brocade Silkworm 200E Fibre Channel switch suffered a power supply failure caused by an inadequate voltage supply. The original power supply only provided 12 volts, leaving us uncertain about the required current rating. We subsequently tried a 12V 6A unit, which surprisingly worked flawlessly. This blanking plate comes in two versions - one is a basic blanking plate to seal off the opening, while the second version features a mounting hole for a Jaycar 2.5mm Bulkhead Male DC Jack (Code PS0524). We opted for the second version and used it to power the main board of the switch from an external source.
