C of G Machine parts
prusaprinters

I had been given a Great Planes C.G.Machine but it had missing parts. Since it is discontinued I drew new parts, some by direct measurement, some by photo references. I also realized that a weak point of this tool was that it was very tricky to line everything up and place the airplane on the stand. I solved this by designing the position holder. When slid up towards the top of the rod it locks the socket cap in place. When the plane is in position just slide it down the rod to allow free movement for balancing. I also designed the wing marker that can be taped in exact position on the wing and then the leading edge ruler is not required.

I didn't need the base but I drew it also, incase that is the part you need. So you could print every part if you have the rods and a ball socket.

The Rods are ¼" x 16" and 3/16" x 12". The leading edge rod on the ruler I used 1.5mm x 2 ½", the original is 0.075" x 2 ½". The foam on the top of the socket cap is 3mm thick and put on with double sided tape. The screw for the ruler bezel is 4-40, x ½" but 3/8" should be fine. For the ruler numbers I just made a label with the numbers about 10mm o.c. The socket ball is 0.150", like a Dubro DUB181.

I included the Fusion 360 file if you need to modify any dimensions.
