C-mount and trinocular port extenders for Swift/Other Microscopes

thingiverse

The Swift compound microscopes have a trinocular port with a mix of both custom c-mount ports and mount points with non-standard or unknown (to me, anyway) dimensions and threads. This project allows you to print up male-female extensions for any of the three stages/attachment points, either to adjust the camera position such that it is par-focal with eyepieces or as a starting point to attach other things to you scope. A few sample sizes are included as STL but, using the customizer, you may enable any or all of the: * standard c-mount; * swift oddly non-standard but almost-c-mount (the "parfocal adjustment ring" at the bottom of the tube); * trinocular port body attachment extensions, specifying both the depth of the threads to produce and the distance between the male and female portions of the extender. The standard c-mount extension should work on any standard c-mount, the swift-specific modules were designed and tested on the Swift SW380T, and are likely good for the SW350T and others as well (though I'd love to get confirmation if you've tried it). I've uploaded a couple of example STL files with all three modules, but you'll likely want to use the customizer or the openscad file directly. I highly recommend using the customizer window while running openscad locally rather than the thingiverse customizer, which times out, never completes and often misbehaves. Note: you need to have the threads library if you are running this in openscad locally, see comments in file for deets. The customizer thing is too dumb to deal with includes, so I've uploaded an scad file with the threads library embedded--if you're downloading, get the one without the _customizer_ name and just install get the lib as per the comments.
