This portrait is widely accepted to depict Taraval, a renowned French painter who was contracted for palace work in 1732. Shortly after his arrival, Taraval took charge of the school of draughtsmanship that would eventually evolve into the esteemed Swedish Royal Academy of Fine Arts. The bust is crafted by Jacques-Philippe Bouchardon, a compatriot of the celebrated sculptor Edme Bourchardon. These high-resolution 3D scans were created using an Artec Eva with the goal of producing a digital replica that closely resembles the original artwork. Although the presented scans are not exact duplicates, some minor deviations from the original may occur due to inaccessible areas and other factors.
