C-Clamp / G-Clamp 01 - 03
cults3d
I've created this C-Clamp, also known as a G-Clamp, for three compelling reasons. 1. For my upcoming enclosure build, I need reliable clamps to hold parts together seamlessly. 2. To hone my Fusion 360 skills and push the boundaries of what's possible with 3D modeling software. 3. I've never printed threads on my new 3D printer before, so this project serves as a great opportunity to test and refine my printing techniques. As usual, I've included the Fusion 360 file to make adjustments easier for you. You'll also find a factory file with settings from my Prusa MKS2 and PLA from Das Filament, which should help you replicate the results accurately. During the design phase, I utilized this link https://goo.gl/YcnZ7b to experiment with various thread combinations, diameters, and offsets to find a suitable working and printable thread. It's worth noting that printing this first can be an excellent way to test if your printer is compatible with the chosen combination. This could also serve as a starting point for your own thread tests. A side note: I'm still learning about 3D printing, and I believe creating things from scratch is essential to mastering the craft. By sharing my designs, I hope to receive feedback that will help me improve my skills. If you notice any existing designs in my uploads, please don't be discouraged – I'm eager to learn and improve. Update: On September 4th, 2017, I added a link to the thread test (https://goo.gl/YcnZ7b). On August 9th, 2017, some users preferred screw clamps; try this alternative (https://goo.gl/LvzV1z). On August 2nd, 2017, based on feedback from @wavapps, I added two additional versions of the C-Clamp. C-Clamp 01 (red "C"): Unchanged C-Clamp 02 (yellow "C"): Following @wavapps' suggestion, I've thickened the retainers to about three times their original size. Although I haven't printed them yet due to my printer's busy schedule, this modification should still work unless the gaps have changed significantly. @wavapps reported slight bending on the lower part of the clamp, so I added a cutout to the lower part of the "C" with half the depth of the original cutouts. C-Clamp 03 (blue "C"): Thicker retainers like those in Clamp 02, but all shoes are interchangeable. A full-depth cutout on the lower part of the "C" was also added, which slightly increases the depth due to the cutout.
With this file you will be able to print C-Clamp / G-Clamp 01 - 03 with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on C-Clamp / G-Clamp 01 - 03.
