C-Clamp
thingiverse
I aimed to perfect printing threads, so I began with a c-clamp. Tested acme threads, just like most real c-clamps I've seen, but the angles of acme threads are too tough to print. This thread is a standard M10x1.5. The shoe uses a M8x1.25 thread. I printed other c-clamps I found on Thingiverse, but I didn't like swivel shoe designs that snapped over the end of the screw on most of them, because about half the time the fingers broke off when I snapped them on. I designed this one so that the shoe screws on, yet still swivels. This way, the shoe never breaks, as far as I know, and I've made a lot of these for friends in both PLA and PETG. I also improved the design slightly to make it print with no support and no raft, which seems better for many reasons. One friend asked if it could have legs to stand on its own like a little vise, so I added a version like that. I staggered the legs so two of them can get closer together and still be aligned.
