Students took the knowledge they gained from studying Mesopotamia in fifth grade and turned it into action by designing and crafting their own distinctive Mesopotamian cylinder seals. To kick off this project, students made a trip to the Morgan Libraries Near East exhibition, where they observed and researched the incredible work on display, taking detailed notes as they went along. Next, they took what they learned and sketched out their ideas for what they wanted their custom cylinder seal to look like on paper. After that, vector art was created in Adobe Illustrator, saved as an SVG file, and imported into Tinkercad. The line art from this design was then used to "carve" shapes into a cylindrical shape within Tinkercad.
