As part of our 5th-grade study of Mesopotamia, students took the initiative to design and craft their own distinctive Mesopotamian cylinder seals. To begin this project, students made it a point to visit the Morgan Library's Near East exhibition, carefully observing and researching the works on display. They then took detailed notes and sketched out their ideas for what they wanted their one-of-a-kind cylinder seal to resemble. Using Adobe Illustrator, students created vector art, saved it as an SVG file, and imported it into Tinkercad. The line art was then used to carefully craft shapes into a cylindrical shape within Tinkercad.
