C & C Cage Panel Adapters
prusaprinters

We've got a multi-level guinea pig enclosure, but to provide the four pigs more space we wanted to do a full second floor.

To make sure the floor was stable enough, but to also allow for easy removal for cleaning, I designed and printed a bunch of these ‘panel adapter clips’. The long ‘toothed’ side clips into the “first floor's walls” and provides a new in-set snap-in point of contact for a horizontal panel making the floor of a “second” level.

The second object “Panel Level Clip”, like an L shape (without the inset snap-in), we have affixed to plastic ramps to provide additional stability for the pigs, and we also use for toys or gadgets in the pen.

Unlike the typical C & C connectors that require a hammer to pound or pry the panels apart, these just click into place. Use twist ties through the provided holes to secure it to the lower wall and prevent them from unclipping the wrong way!

The subtle inset also forces the second floor into a slight arch, adding some stability.

We use these for a 3 x 4 panel enclosure and provide a pillar for extra reassurance.

Consider printing tubes or buying dowels to use in the provided holes instead of twist ties.
