https://youtu.be/x5a8nJ9vM3Q The C-Beam fabricator is a medium to large format 3D printer, engineered with OpenBuilds C-Beam extrusions for simplicity, elegance and robust structural stability. I've attached a build plate design of 450mm x 450mm, but this can be scaled to requirements, as indeed could the whole project by simply adding required lengths of c-beam extrusion! I started the design using the OpenBuilds gantry plates (3mm aluminum), but modified them to my own specifications and printed them out. Most plates were printed from PLA at 200 degrees C with 25% infill, they seem more than tough enough. I've been operating the 'C-Beam FAB' in anger for about a week now and things are going smoothly. I'm more skilled in CAD than Gcode, so I've had to brush up on my codes! I've calibrated the bed, hotend & XYZ axis and so far it's performing flawlessly! I'm using a 300mm x 300mm silicone heatbed I purchased from Ooznest, and it really is worth the investment (in my humble opinion). 60 degrees C is reached (24v) in about 1 1/2 minutes, the Hemera hotend (direct) reaches 200 in about the same time.
