These modified hand pistons are specifically designed for a life-size C-3PO, perfect for costumers. The original hand pistons on a C-3PO model were crafted from brass. Many people try to use a screen-sized reference or blueprint but struggle with brittle prints caused by thin spots and relief lines when using methods other than SLA printing. I created these modified hand pistons from scratch, focusing on thickening key areas for added sturdiness. They are divided into three sections: top, middle, and bottom. To assemble the parts, sand the ends and bevel the holes slightly with an X-acto before gluing them together using CA glue or ideally 3DGloop! glue. Before gluing, ensure that the top and middle sections align properly using the flat bottom of the pistons to prevent them from rolling around on the back of the hand. To secure the parts in place, use a 3/32 drill and pilot hole to drill through the bottom after the parts have cured from gluing. Then, tap the holes with a 4-40 tape and attach 1/4" 4-40 screws from underneath the hand plate to hold them firmly in place.
