C-133 Cargomaster for microarmor
thingiverse
Cold War era heavy transport aircraft designed to carry Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles across vast distances. This aircraft is often regarded as a death trap due to its notorious stall characteristics, resulting in numerous crashes with zero survivors on board. Despite this reputation, it holds the record for speed during transatlantic flights and lift capacity, boasting an impressive 117,900 pounds lifted to 10,000 feet, a feat unmatched by any turboprop aircraft. A massive model of this plane is showcased at 1/285 scale in microarmor format, dwarfing nearby models such as a P-51 Mustang, Leopard 1A1, and Leopard 2A4. The sheer size of the aircraft becomes apparent when comparing its nearly 190mm wingspan to the actual plane's impressive 55m span. The STL files provided are for both one-piece and four-part model configurations, with some visible imperfections resulting from a "clumsy glue job" using TGF filler and sandpaper. For accurate representation, the full dimensions of the model were captured in Blender 2.80 and exported from Blender 2.79b at a scale of 1/100 for the STL file. However, issues arose when attempting to export STL files from Blender 2.80 for use with Cura; it was discovered that exporting the mesh from Blender 2.79b yielded more consistent results, despite slightly different file sizes. For reference, standard 15mm dice are included in the image for scale comparison.
